Accomplishments to date

 

Since inception in July 2008, MD by MD has attained over $1,000,000 in grant funding for its clients.  We are

working on raising subsequent capital.

 

We have also been involved in filing 4 US and PCT patent applications.

Philosophy

 

MD by MD believes that the source of leading medical technology is in the minds of those who are

practicing medicine every day.  By understanding both patient and provider needs, as well as the

current market, physicians have the opportunity to generate and innovate dominating tools and devices.

 

However, with little time on their hands, most of their ideas remain as ideas so MD by MD

was created to execute them in an integrated manner.  Our passion is in helping doctors.

MD by MD understands the value of cash for a startup company.  Therefore, our fees are at cost until

certain negotiated milestones are reached, upon which we will also accept equity.  Thus, our incentives

are aligned to help you succeed.  Consequently, we are selective about the technologies we choose to

manage.

 

 

History

 

The idea for MD by MD was motivated in 1999 when Aylin Kim saw first hand the frustrations

the physician she was working for had in trying to bring his medical device concept to market while running

a practice.  The physician ended up shelving the whole concept after spending the effort and expense

of patenting it because he had no time or familiarity with how to bring it to commercialization. 

The strong demand for help in bridging the gap between mind and market pushed MD by MD to a

momentous launch in July 2008.
